NXTsports & UNITED SPORTS ANNOUNCE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
October 19 2012
NXTsports Become Exclusive Operator of Boy’s Lacrosse Programming at United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, PA
NXTsports and United Sports are happy to announce a new partnership under which NXTsports shall become the exclusive operator of boys’ lacrosse programming & events at the United Sports Training Center.
United Sports is comprised of a 127,000 square foot indoor training facility, as well a 60-acre outdoor sports complex featuring eleven professional grade athletic fields, all located right off of the Route 30 Bypass in Downingtown, PA, one of the regions fastest growing lacrosse markets. NXTsports has established itself as one of the nation’s leaders in lacrosse educational and training programs, and in running first-rate lacrosse events.
Under the partnership NXT will immediately launch its Cradle Lacrosse skill development program for 4-7 year olds, and its Trashcan Lacrosse skill development programs, clinics and camps for 7-14 year olds at United Sports. NXT will also be offering a range of skill development clinics for high school age players. Finally, NXT will direct the new, elite Philly Summer Invitational at United Sports next summer, a weekend lacrosse tournament featuring some of the best high school age lacrosse clubs from all over North America.
Said Andy Hayes, President of NXTsports, “United Sports is an incredible sports complex located in a fast-growing lacrosse market. We are incredibly excited to become the exclusive boy’s lacrosse operator there, and look forward to working with the United Sports team.”
“When you combine NXTsports’ lacrosse-specific expertise with United Sports tremendous experience running and marketing events in many different sports, we believe there is amazing potential in this partnership.”
Said John Hatt, Vice President of Programming at United Sports, “Partnering with an established and professional lacrosse organization, such as NXTsports, has been our goal for a long time now. NXTsports immediately provides boys lacrosse at United Sports with credibility, an existing successful program model, and an experienced lacrosse staff that is unmatched in this area. United Sports is excited about the joint impact we can now have on the boy’s lacrosse community by partnering with NXTsports.”
The first marquee event launched under this partnership is the aforementioned NXT Summer Invitational taking place July 13-14, 2013 at United Sports. This tournament is modeled after the NXT Fall Invitational which is part of NXT’s Philly Showcase weekend and has become one of the biggest draws during the November lacrosse recruiting season. The Summer Invitational will be kept small and elite, with limited spots available in four different age divisions – rising seniors (2014s), rising juniors (2015s), rising sophomores (2016s), and rising ninth-graders (2017s). Already some of the very best clubs in the nation have committed to attend, including Long Island Express, Laxachusetts, Top Gun Fighting Clams, Team Carolina, HEADstrong, Mesa Fresh, NH Tomahawks, NXT L.C., CT Chargers, and Team Long Island.
Added Andy Hayes, “the United Sports venue is absolutely ideal for an elite exposure lacrosse tournament and will allow us to run an event that exceeds expectations of all participants. With ten fields at United Sports in a compact layout, great sightlines, and on-site parking, this tournament will be highly convenient for players, families, clubs and especially for college coaches, who will quickly and easily be able to move around and evaluate all of the great teams in action at the event.”
More information about the NXT Summer Invitational is available at ShowcaseLacrosse.com, and questions about the event can be directed to Brett Manney, NXT’s Director of Showcase Lacrosse, at brett@iamnxt.com. November 11 2011
PHILLY SHOWCASE WEEKEND SET TO BEGIN NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT
Schedule Set for Philly Showcase Friday Night Session at St. Joseph’s University to Benefit the NTAF Mid-Atlantic Traumatic Brain Injury Fund in honor of Logan Schweiter
The 2011 Philly Boys Showcase will take place the weekend of November 18-20, 2011, and will begin Friday, November 18 with a special doubleheader of games at St. Joseph’s University. All proceeds from this night will be donated to the NTAF fund in honor of local youth lacrosse player Logan Schweiter to assist with some of Logan’s many uninsured injury-related expenses. Twelve-year-old Logan nearly drowned when trapped before being rescued from floodwaters near his Wayne, PA home last July. Logan attends St. Katherine’s of Siena School in Wayne and is an enthusiastic rising lacrosse player in the Conestoga Youth Lacrosse (CYLAX) program.
The schedule for next Friday, November 18 at St. Joseph’s Finnesey Field is:
• 6pm, Gates open at St. Joseph’s University
• 7pm, HEADstrong v. Mesa Fresh 2013, Finnesey Field
• 8pm, Dukes L.C. v. Leading Edge, Finnesey Field
Said Taylor Wray, Men’s Lacrosse Coach at St. Joseph’s University, “We are happy to partner with NXT sports to host this event. Service and assisting those in need are core components of the University’s mission, and St. Joe’s is proud to assist in raising money for an important organization like NTAF and to support Philadelphia-area lacrosse.”
The Friday night event is open to all college coaches and to the public. The requested admission donation of $5 goes in full towards the NTAF Mid-Atlantic Traumatic Brain Injury Fund in honor of Logan Schweiter. There will also be a concessions stand with all proceeds going to NTAF. Along with Taylor Wray, NXT Sports wishes to thank St. Joseph’s University and in particular St. Joseph’s Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach Dan Keating for working to make this event possible.
